Mutterschaft is German for motherhood or maternity. In this painting I wanted to conjoin the concepts of sexuality and its fruitage: conception and parenthood. The young woman that walks or stands in the water is faced by menacing man-made fallic structures that resemble plant forms. It's a jungle out there!
